Gold Coast SES adds three operational vehicles to its response fleet
Published · Cenlocal summary
Two Pimpama and Runaway Bay groups and the citywide unit have received fully equipped vehicles, co-funded by council and a Queensland Government grant.

Gold Coast State Emergency Service has added three equipped vehicles to its response fleet. The City of Gold Coast reported on 23 October 2026 that all three were already operational.
A Ford Ranger general-purpose vehicle has been allocated to each of the Pimpama and Runaway Bay groups. A Ford Transit personnel carrier serves the Gold Coast Unit. Council says the vehicles are fitted out for frontline emergency work across the city.
The purchase was jointly funded by council and a Queensland Government SES Support Grant Program grant. The announcement does not state the dollar value or the funding split. Council also noted the unit’s 2026 National Disaster Rescue Challenge win, a separate achievement from the fleet investment. The vehicles are in service rather than awaiting future delivery.
