CLAIMING A LISTING
Claiming Policy
How Cenlocal checks that a person asking for control of a listing is entitled to it.
Who can claim a listing
Only the business owner, or a person the business has authorised to act for it, may claim a listing. Claiming gives control of the listing content, so each claim is checked before it is approved.
What we ask for
You will be asked for your name, your role in the business, contact details you can be reached on, and evidence connecting you to the business. Evidence may include an ABN, business registration, a business invoice or letterhead, or another document that shows your connection to the business.
Requiring more than one form of evidence, or contacting the business on its publicly listed details, is a normal part of the check.
How your evidence is handled
Documents you upload are stored privately. They are not published on the listing and are not visible to other users or to search engines. Only Cenlocal administrators can open them, and only for verifying the claim.
An unverified claim never receives customer enquiries and never gains access to the listing.
Outcomes
A claim may be approved, held for further verification, declined, or withdrawn by you. If it is approved, the listing moves into your account and is marked as claimed. If it is declined, you will be told and can respond with further evidence.
Every claim decision is recorded in the listing's activity history.
Disputed claims and transfers
If more than one person claims the same business, or a business changes hands, we may pause the listing while we verify who is entitled to control it. We may reverse a claim that was approved on incorrect or misleading information.
Claiming and payment
Cenlocal is operated by Cenplus Pty Ltd (ABN 92 160 933 835).
