Published · Cenlocal summary
The latest Community Garden Grants round will fund food-growing, native planting and accessibility work at five Canberra sites.

Five Canberra community gardens will share nearly $40,000 through the ACT Government’s latest Community Garden Grants round, announced on 15 October 2026. The funding supports growing food, biodiversity and opportunities for neighbours to meet.
Canberra Environment Centre will establish a bush-tucker garden with native food plants, cultural education and workshops. Brigalow Court in O’Connor plans wicking beds, herbs, fruit trees and seating. Koala Playschool will develop a native pollinator-friendly garden, gathering space and street library.
Uniting Care Kippax will improve drainage, paths and a raised bed. Wybalena Grove in Cook will add growing beds, paths and shared equipment storage. The government says more than 100 community garden projects have received funding since 2015. These are funded plans and upgrades; the announcement does not establish that all work is already complete.
