Stage 2A works will suspend the entire light rail service, with accessible replacement buses between the city and Gungahlin.

Canberra light rail passengers will need to switch to buses across the entire network on Saturday 31 October and Sunday 1 November 2026. Transport Canberra says the suspension runs from the first Saturday service through the last Sunday service for Light Rail Stage 2A construction. CDC Canberra will operate replacement services between Alinga Street and Gungahlin Place, serving designated replacement stops along the corridor.
Replacement buses are scheduled at normal light rail frequency or better, though road and construction conditions may affect times. Passengers will not need to tap on or off replacement buses; normal tapping requirements apply on connecting regular buses. Replacement services are wheelchair accessible but have no bicycle racks. Check official stop maps and allow extra time for travel and transfers.
