Fairfield Hospital Redevelopment Plans Open for Community Feedback

Planning documents for a proposed six-storey Clinical Services Building at Fairfield Hospital are on exhibition, with community feedback open until 23 October 2026.

The community is being invited to review and comment on planning documents for the next stage of the Fairfield Hospital Redevelopment in Western Sydney.
What is proposed
According to Health Infrastructure NSW, the redevelopment is valued at $630 million, made up of $550 million from the NSW Government and an $80 million Commonwealth contribution towards expanding the Emergency Department.
The centrepiece is a proposed six-storey Clinical Services Building that would connect to the existing hospital through a new main entry and drop-off area. Subject to planning approval, it is proposed to include:
- a new and expanded Emergency Department
- an Intensive Care Unit
- medical imaging
- operating theatres
- inpatient wards
How to have your say
The Review of Environmental Factors and supporting documents are available online, and feedback can be lodged through the online submission form until 11:59pm on Friday 23 October 2026.
Health Infrastructure has also listed drop-in information sessions:
- Monday 28 September 2026, 5pm to 7pm – Fairfield Hospital foyer
- Thursday 1 October 2026, 10am to 1pm – Fairfield Hospital foyer
- Friday 9 October 2026, 10am to 2pm – Stockland Wetherill Park
Other work on site
Construction of a new multi-storey car park with more than 450 spaces is already under way and, according to Health Infrastructure, is expected to be completed in late 2027.
