Perth’s Multicultural Festival has been named Best New Event in Australia at the 2026 Australian Event Awards, the City of Perth announced on 23 October. The recognition is for the inaugural festival held at Elizabeth Quay in November 2025.
The City reports that 27,000 people attended over two nights. The program included music, dance, food and cultural experiences, representing international communities alongside local Nyoongar culture. Performances used the quay’s floating stage and the finale featured fireworks with an original soundtrack by Nyoongar artist Phil Walleystack.
The awards ceremony took place in Coffs Harbour, New South Wales. This is a new award for the festival’s first edition, not advance reporting of another event. Attendance and program details are attributed to the City’s announcement.
