Museum of Australian Democracy (MoAD) — 26 September to 4 October
At Old Parliament House, Parkes, MoAD lists free family activities including drop-in craft, outdoor games and story time in the Senate Courtyard, and its PlayUP interactive play space.
National Arboretum Canberra — 26 September to 12 October
Family Orienteering: collect a map at the Visitor Centre and search the forests and gardens for hidden clues. Drop-in, no booking required; listed at $5 per family. The course covers uneven ground, so wear sturdy shoes and sun protection.
National Zoo & Aquarium — until 11 October
Zoo in Bloom has a "Pollinators" theme with floral displays and educational activities. It is included with zoo admission or membership.
