Eligible Tablelands pensioners have until 5pm on Friday 23 October to register for council’s free yard clean-up, with collections scheduled to begin in early November.

Tablelands Regional Council is reminding eligible pensioners to register for its free pre-cyclone clean-up before the October deadline. The initiative was highlighted in council’s Queensland Seniors Month update, published on 7 October 2026.
According to council, the service is available to residents receiving an age or disability pension who live within a kerbside collection area. Registrations close at 5pm on Friday 23 October 2026, and collections are due to begin in early November.
What can be collected?
Council says the clean-up covers green waste, iron and general yard debris. Not everything left in a yard is eligible, so residents should check the accepted materials before making arrangements.
- Green waste, iron and general yard debris are included.
- White goods, furniture and household rubbish are excluded.
- Car bodies and tyres are also excluded.
How to register
Residents can visit council’s cyclone clean-up page or call 1300 362 242 to register and check their eligibility. Confirm collection arrangements directly with council rather than assuming a particular pickup day.
The clean-up is one of the initiatives promoted during Queensland Seniors Month. Council’s update also encourages older residents to connect with local community groups and recognise the contributions seniors make across the Tablelands.
